A weak frontal boundary over Southeast Texas might cause two kinds of weather weekendsThe stalled cold front is projected to cause lows in the 50s on Friday night in parts of the Brazos Valley and in the piney woods of East Texas. But south and east of the front, including in Houston, the temperatures are forecasted to remain in the 60s.
On the south side of that cold front, things have been getting warm. Both Galveston and Bush Intercontinental Airport set high temperature records over the last 24 hours, according to the weather service. Temperatures at the airport didn't drop below 70 degrees on Thursday, setting a new record minimum. On Friday, Galveston set a new record high temperature of 78 degrees.
On the other side of the line, things were cooler. College Station reached a high of 69 degrees, which is about normal for late February.Foggy conditions are expected once again overnight, with dense fog expected along the coast. Tomorrow, most locations will see another day of warm and humid weather, while the far northern portions of the area will be drier due to the approach of a weak front today.
