, 38, stood before a federal judge as he admitted to operating an illegal money laundering business and committing wire fraud. The man, who has dual citizenship in the United States and Ghana, was arrested July 6, 2022.
Anim and alleged co-conspirator, Akua Dufie, conned dozens of victims, an FBI Special Agent testifed in July 2022. The investigation into Anim began in 2019 after his name showed up on incorporation documents for the businesses where victims sent their money, the FBI agent said during the July 2022 hearing. Through businesses in Anim and his alleged co-conspirator's names, the pair operated the unlicensed money laundering business, court records show.
