Most children love to spend time in a backyard playhouse, and this is why these structures are perennially popular

The instructions are clear, and as you assemble it don’t be afraid to predrill tiny holes where screws bite into the wood. In fact, I strongly recommend it. The softwood that’s used to make this kit is a little on the brittle side. A 1/16” or 3/32” pilot hole lets the screws bite well while eliminating the chance of the wood splitting. Without predrilling you’ll almost certainly have parts that split. This is no big deal, just predrill. The base for your playhouse is another thing to consider.

The roof of the Timberlake is made of wood slats so it does not shed water as it comes out of the box. We opted to install asphalt shingles to shed rainwater and to make the entire structure last longer and look better. I definitely recommend shingles along with an aluminum drip cap on the roof perimeter, but there’s one other thing to consider.
