House Republican leaders condemned the Biden administration on Wednesday on topics ranging from immigration to its response to Israel's war in Gaza.
House Speaker Mike Johnson appeared alongside prominent House Republicans, including Reps. James Comer , Chip Roy , Elise Stefanik , Jim Jordan , and Steve Scalise , in an appearance on Fox News's Hannity. The group pledged to put aside their differences and unite around an opposition to President Joe Biden's policies.
Jordan gave updates on the investigation into the Department of Justice's alleged spying on members of Congress and their staff. He announced an investigation into the matter on Tuesday. "As part of the investigation, Jordan sent letters to the CEOs of Alphabet, Apple, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, along with Attorney General Merrick Garland, demanding information on alleged attempts by the DOJ to obtain the private communications of members of Congress and their staff," he said in a letter on Tuesday.
"Next to a declaration of war, impeachment is the most serious power that Congress has," Johnson replied."We do not wield it for political purposes. We are following the truth where it leads.
