B.C. Health Ministry says COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to drop
British Columbia has recorded 11 new deaths related to COVID-19 over a three-day period for a total of 2,914 fatalities since the pandemic began.
The Health Ministry says in a news release that six of the deaths were in the Fraser area, three in the Interior region and one each in Northern and Island health authorities.The figure is a slight decrease from Friday when 484 people were in hospital with COVID-19 while 69 were in intensive care. The ministry says people who are not fully vaccinated accounted for 31.9 per cent of hospitalizations between Feb. 18 and March 3.
The release says 90.8 per cent of those eligible 12 and older have received their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 56.2 per cent have had their third dose.
