Incorporating Asian American history into Pennsylvania school curriculum not only celebrates the contributions of Asian Americans, but also educates others to prevent hate and violence.

In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, FOX 29 went into a classroom at Downingtown S.T.E.M. Academy to meet a student who is advocating for AAPI education in Pennsylvania classrooms.Shawn Zhu, 16, is a sophomore who plans on pursuing a degree in Computer Science after high school. In his spare time, he volunteers with Make Us Visible PA, managing the social media content for the organization.
