Honduras won't follow El Salvador in making Bitcoin legal tender
The central bank has clarified that it is the only issuer of banknotes and coins in the country in accordance with the law. At the same time, it has made it clear that it “does not supervise or guarantee” payments made with the help of crypto.
The Central American country says that it will continue assessing the feasibility of developing a central bank digital currency.The statement from the central bank comes after rumors of Honduras adopting Bitcoin as an official currency started circulating on Twitter earlier this week. However, they have now been proven to be totally false.
