“The accused repeatedly described his fear of the deceased … that he didn’t intend to hurt him, that he only pulled the knife to intimidate him by waving it toward the deceased to get his property back, and that the deceased was pushing him into traffic while struggling over duffel bag.” The two men, with Scott the much larger individual, struggled over the property when Verhaeghe demanded it returned, eventually ending up in the middle of 36 Street N.E. near Marlborough Mall.Article content
