The Triangle Bar lost roughly 50% of its business in the last several months — with owner Scott Coors attributing the tavern’s floundering to downtown“With heavy hearts we announce that, effective today, Triangle Bar Denver is closing our doors indefinitely.

The Triangle Bar, which has been a staple since the 1970s, is located less than a tenth of a mile away from a massive tent city at Broadway and 20th Street.The Broadway camp has been a persistent nuisance for months, forcing Coors since August to consider closing the local landmark if the “inescapable problem” of homelessness didn’t improve soon.

Other neighborhood bars and restaurants have also reported drastic drops in revenue due, with all of them blaming the homeless encampments.
