“With all available tracts of land in the city committed to high-density construction, the single-detached home is quickly becoming a unicorn,” said Alexander in a press release. That was down almost 24 per cent from the previous five-year period, when more than $33.7 billion worth of residential building permits were issued in the single-family category.
