It was more bad news Monday for holiday travellers trying to get between Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal as VIA Rail said train routes connecting those cities remained cancelled on Boxing Day.

As of Monday there were still snow squall alerts or watches or travel advisories in 11 areas across the province. Snow squalls in various areas are expected through Tuesday afternoon. However, there are no watches for Ottawa, where Environment Canada predicted a cloudy day Monday with the chance of a few flurries and a high of – 5 C, with a wind chill of -9 C.
