Singer\u002Dsongwriter John Carroll hosts his second annual holiday cabaret at Irene’s Pub on Friday, Dec. 23, and it’s shaping up to be a mighty fine showcase of Ottawa\u002Darea talent. The program features performances by Ian Tamblyn, an elder statesmen of Canadian folk scene, as well as a coterie of singer\u002Dsongwriters, including rock ‘n roller Dave Bignell, roots maven Christine Graves, inventive multi\u002Dinstrumentalist Jamieson Mackay and the ethereal\u002Dvoiced Chloe Laberge. The music starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $20, plus fees, available in advance at irenespub.com or tickettailor.com.
