Holiday festivities are getting into swing in communities across San Diego County . Here’s a guide to parades, light shows , Christmas tree lighting ceremonies, community holiday shows and festivals to celebrate the season. Check the venue's website for updates. Parade of Lights: Alpine’s “Parade of Lights” starts at 6 p.m. Dec. 1 at Alpine Boulevard and West Victoria and will be on the main stretch of Alpine Boulevard. The parade is hosted by the Alpine Chamber of Commerce.
Christmas With the Animals: Nonprofit big cat and bear sanctuary Lions Tigers & Bears invites the public to a special event from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at the sanctuary, 24402 Martin Way, where animals will be opening treat-filled presents and discovering Christmas trees in their habitats. Feeding is from 3 to 4 p.m. There will be a Festival of Lights gift shop. Donation for admission is $50 or $20 for children age 12 and under; $30/$15 for members.
