Hole-in-one report: Golfer caps tournament round at Valley Ridge with $10,000 ace yyc
Stan Schwartzenberger’s better half was proud to report that her hubby carded his first hole-in-one on No. 4 at Medicine Hat G&CC. Schwartzenberger, who is a former member at Winston and is planning to move back to Calgary after retiring in a few months, hammered a four-hybrid and watched from 165 yards away as his ball landed just off the green, bounced twice and disappeared below ground level.
Eighty years young, Gail Winston Buker buried a beauty on the seventh at Sirocco for his first hole-in-one. Buker smacked a seven-wood and his aim was outstanding from the 130-yard blocks. Graeme Hlady will be saying only good things about his six-iron, his weapon of choice for a 162-yard memory-maker on No. 3 on the Hawk’s Nest Nine at Wingfield, while Hongmei Zhang made short work of the fourth hole on the Runway Nine thanks to a nifty nine-iron that covered 98 yards.
