Officials with Ottawa Fire Services said the emergency call came in just before 1 p.m. Monday as workers were washing windows at a 14-storey condominium complex on Grant Carman Drive near Viewmount Drive in Nepean.Firefighters “confirmed two window washers had lost power and were stuck 10 storeys up on their swing stage,” officials said via Twitter. “Neither worker was in distress and both were safely fastened.
Photos and video of the rescue operation were posted to social media showing firefighters securing an aerial ladder, with technicians positioned on the roof to set up “anchor points.”Ottawa Fire on scene on Grant Carman Dr. for two workers stuck on a swing stage ten storeys above the ground.OFS Rope Rescue technicians rigged a safety line before transferring them to Ladder 24.Ottawa Fire crews brought both workers down to the ground. No injuries reported.
