Environment Canada has issued a tornado watch for western Quebec and communities west of Ottawa including Pembroke, Bancroft and Barry's Bay. The watch is in effect Thursday afternoon and evening.A thunderstorm builds over the Montreal area in 2022. Weather alerts about potentially strong storms cover a large part of the Ottawa-Gatineau area today, but don't affect the capital itself.
