A Pa. school wore green for a student who was diagnosed with congenital disorders of glycosylation (CDG) and earned about his condition.
Bridle Path Elementary school students and teachers geared up in green for a celebration of one special kid.
, “Congenital disorders of glycosylation are a large group of rare genetic disorders that affect the addition of sugar building blocks, called glycans, to proteins in cells throughout the body.” How does a child get CDG? According to CHOP it's genetic, so in most cases, it is inherited from parents. If only one copy of a gene’s pair has the mutation the person would not have CDG, the disorder only typically occurs when both parents have the genetic mutation.
