Dick's Drive-In Restaurants, Inc. signed a purchase and sale agreement to acquire a site north of Airport Road on State Route 99.
“We know our customers north of Edmonds have been waiting patiently for us to look north again,” said Jasmine Donovan, president of the company and granddaughter of the founder and namesake, Dick Spady.
The original Dick's Drive-In opened in January 1954 in Seattle's Wallingford neighborhood. Three additional locations opened in Seattle between 1955 and 1963. The company opened its lower Queen Anne location in 1974. More recently, the Edmonds location opened in 2011. It was the first new location the company opened in 37 years.
Dick's then opened a location in Kent in 2018, another at Bellevue Crossroads in 2021 and a ninth location in Federal Way in 2023.Before that can happen, however, feasibility studies must be complete along with the company obtaining the necessary permits from Snohomish County and the City of Everett.
