More than a few of Americans’ favorite things will jump in cost if Mexican tariffs go into effect Monday.
Mexican officials resumed talks with the U.S. on Thursday to attempt to reach an agreement on border security in order to slow the number of illegal border crossings., President Trump said on Thursday that progress has been made and warned Mexico should “step up to the plate” to prevent tariffs on nearly $350 billion of imports.
Trump threatened to increase tariffs up to 25% over the next four months if the two countries are unable to reach an agreement, which could cost American households as much as $900 annually.
