April 2025 event will be one of largest gatherings of healthcare professionals in province

But a charity hockey tournament coming to the Sault next year will feature teams made up entirely of doctors! The event, which first took to the ice in 1983 and has raised more than $1 million for charity over the years, says it will donate proceeds to United Way Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District.

Co-chairs Dr. Bob Maloney and Dr. Jeff Jonusaitis are proud to bring this exciting event to the community. As one of the largest gatherings of healthcare professionals in the province, the tournament presents an opportunity to showcase the city’s hospitality, attractions, and stunning views of Northern Ontario.

Plans are in motion to highlight the city's amenities and attractions to visiting doctors and their families. Proceeds from the event will benefit United Way Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District, supporting vital community programs and services.
