Hint: They're almost all in one neighbourhood
Yet again, one neighbourhood in Vancouver dominated the list of high-value residential properties in B.C.
A factor in the most expensive homes in the province appears to be not just ocean views, but specifically views of English Bay and the Burrard Inlet, with 14 of the top 15 all looking at the same body of water. This year its value inched up from $81.77 million at the beginning of 2023, earning Wilson about $900,000.
Located just west of Sidney, it's seen plenty over the years. At different times it has been home to a hunting ground, the site of a dynamite plant, and, most recently, in the middle of a legal battle. It seems the market agrees fairly closely with this evaluation. In mid-2024 it sold for $43.7 million after hitting the market for $48 million.
