Charity hockey game planned for Conception Bay South this Sunday

Sammy playing outside in the snow. - ContributedST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Six-year-old Sammy Porter was proof that even very young children can do great things.When he noticed not all children were playing sports, he questioned it.Sammy died last summer, on July 17, at a swimming hole in Seal Cove.

“I say they're doing good considering, so I don't know how anybody gets through it, but definitely having the foundation, and the family support, the community support, the provincial support, it helps huge.” As Sammy’s only teacher, Bussey said the rest of the school staff had a lot of empathy for her after his death, but she said she feels lucky.
