Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Quinte region with strong winds and heavy rainfall forecast for Thursday.Belleville – Quinte West – Eastern Northumberland CountyStrong winds and heavy rainfall possible Thursday.Southwesterly winds gusting 70 to 90 km/h. The strongest winds are expected for areas downwind of Lake Erie.Rain will begin over extreme southwestern Ontario early Thursday morning and advance northeastward through the day.
High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Isolated utility outages are possible.For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office.
