Heavy rain forecast for most of election day in San Diego County [Breaking]
The National Weather Service says an Alaskan storm will produce steady rain from early morning to mid-evening on Tuesday, creating wet and windy conditions throughout San Diego County during the midterm elections.
The storm will creep into North County on Monday night and spread south by early Tuesday. Oceanside, Carlsbad and San Diego are expected to get about an inch of rain. And winds along the coast could gust 20 mph to 30 mph. The system will then fan out to the north and east, potentially dropping as much as 1.5 inches of precipitation in areas such as Escondido, Fallbrook, Rainbow and Alpine.Tuesday’s daytime highs will be in low 60s in San Diego and the upper 50s across most inland areas. The storm will tap into subtropical moisture from east of Hawaii, which will keep temperatures a little higher than normal. The storm is expected to push east into Nevada and Arizona by noon on Wednesday.
The storm’s clouds are expected to make it virtually impossible to see the lunar eclipse that will occur before dawn on Tuesday.
