Health Promotion Specialist supports effective, evidence-informed public health practice at Algoma Public Health through the analysis and synthesis of research, application of health promotion principles and theories, and the development of partnerships and plans to advance healthy public policy.
• Retrieve and synthesize population health status information to describe the importance of underlying causes of a health issue.• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and expand knowledge tailored to the team in which you are hired for.• Assist in the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of information related to population health status and health promotion action.
• Develop collaborative relationships with internal and external partners across sectors to enhance the impact and sustainability of health promotion action.• Master's degree in public health, health policy, health promotion, health science, epidemiology, social sciences, or related discipline and/or combined relevant experience.
• Ability to prepare and deliver high quality knowledge products, including written reports and presentations for diverse audiences and purposes.
