More than 5,000 people are probably dying each day from COVID\u002D19 in China, health data firm Airfinity estimated
China’s National Health Commission reported Thursday no new COVID-19 deaths and 2,966 new local symptomatic cases for Dec. 21.
“You have 1.4 billion more people infected or potentially being infected, which just increases the probability that we see more mutations and more variants. It’s just a numbers game,” he said. One variant circulating in China is BF.7, an Omicron variant that is also present in Canada.
