More than 100 people gathered to mourn Shakeel Ashraf at a Mississauga mosque on Wednesday afternoon after the father of two was fatally shot in a GTA shooting rampage that also left a Toronto police officer dead and three others injured earlier this week.

Two others were shot at MK Auto Repairs — Ashraf’s autobody shop — Monday. One of those victims is in critical condition in ICU. Before the funeral service, friend Faizan Niaz described Ashraf as a “very good car mechanic,” which is why he is well-known in the community.our community,” Niaz said, adding that his friend was humble and “the biggest philanthropist.”

His family would often attend and support his cricket matches — he was a member of the MSA Qalandars cricket team of the Event Ontario Softball Cricket League.
