CASTRO VALLEY — Hayward police officers were involved in a shooting Monday, authorities said.
Few details were available before a scheduled 1 p.m. press conference. Hayward police spokesman Officer Cassondra Fovel confirmed that Hayward police were involved in a shooting and investigating it.According to Fovel, the incident started with a pursuit in the city of Hayward. There were no details immediately as to why the pursuit started or the condition of the person police were chasing.
Messages to Hayward police and the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office were not returned. The sheriff’s office also had personnel on the scene.
