Their library box was defaced for a third time on Thursday between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Calgary police said this time it was covered with derogatory terms and white supremacist language.Calgary police say a Little Free Library in the community of Cedarbrae was repeatedly vandalized with white-supremacist stickers and graffiti over several weeks this month.
“Vandalism is more than a property offence, it often has a lasting emotional impact on people whose homes and properties are damaged, especially if the vandalism indicates that victims have been intentionally targeted due to a personal characteristic or trait,” said Calgary Police Service in a news release.
Calgary police’s hate-crime prevention unit is encouraging anyone who may have witnessed the vandalism or have information about the suspect or suspects involved to call police at 403-266-1234 or submit a tip anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 or calgarycrimestoppers.org.
