On Wednesday afternoon, Harvard University announced it would not take the coronavirus relief money that had been allocated to it under the stimulus law

On Tuesday Trump, 73, contended during his daily coronavirus update that Harvard would give back the relief funds it was allotted. “They have one of the largest endowments anywhere in the country, maybe in the world, I guess,” Trump told reporters. “And they’re going to pay back that money. They shouldn’t have taken it.”

saying it would keep the grant, noting that it would direct 100 percent of the funds to “provide direct assistance to students facing urgent financial needs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
