Jason Yerg was sworn in at the board of commissioners meeting on March 30.

Yerg began his law enforcement career as a police officer with the Milton Borough Police Department after graduating from Bloomsburg University with his bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice. In 1999, he joined the Baltimore Police Department and work in a variety of roles, including as a sergeant and lieutenant, before becoming the deputy director of the Equal Opportunity and Diversity Section and the deputy commander of the Northwestern District.

Yerg is a retired veteran, having split his military service between the U.S. Army and Air Force. He was deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom to both Andrews Airforce Base and Kandahar, Afghanistan, retiring in 2018. “On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Sen. Mike Regan and Rep. Sheryl Delozier for obtaining a $985,000 grant through the Local Share Account program for the refurbishment of our 50-year-old pool complex,” Nate Silcox, president of the board, said.
