Zeke Fox, a 17-year-old from Hamilton, is being celebrated for his bravery after rescuing a man from a burning tent near Bayfront Park. While driving home from a friend's house, Zeke spotted the fire and quickly acted to save the trapped individual.
A Hamilton teen is being hailed as a hero after he rescued a man from a burning tent in an encampment near Bayfront Park Sunday night. Christine Fox said her son, 17-year-old Zeke, was driving home when he spotted what he thought was a bonfire. Upon closer inspection, Zeke realized it was a tent engulfed in flames. He immediately sprang into action, calling his parents and rushing to the tent.
Finding a man trapped inside, Zeke bravely entered the burning structure and pulled the man to safety, rolling him in the snow to extinguish the flames. His father arrived shortly after and the fire department and ambulance arrived within minutes. Paramedics transported the man in his 50s to a burn trauma centre in critical condition and Zeke to a pediatric trauma centre in serious condition. Hamilton Police Service confirmed that Zeke Fox was the first to notice the fire
