has a chance. The Velvet Underground received a lifetime achievement award from the Recording Academy in 2017.A total of 224 albums are vying for the five nomination slots in this category. That’s down a bit from 231 last year. Beck, Björk and Radiohead are tied for the most nominations in the category’s history . In addition, Radiohead’s Thom Yorke has received two individual nods in the category; The White Stripes’ Jack White has received one individual nod.Grammy voters are currentlyin 80 of 86 categories on the ballot. First-round voting opened on Oct. 22 and closes on Nov. 5. Nominations will be announced on Nov. 23.
