Halifax Shipyard is holding job fairs across the province looking for more than 350 new workers. - Haifax ShipyardHalifax Shipyard is looking for more than 350 people as work ramps up at the East Coast shipbuilder.
Keith said the new workers are needed as projects ramp up at the shipyard. HMCS William Hall is being completed right now for the Canadian Navy, and two others navy ships are currently in the assembly hall. Also, the shipyard will cut steel in the summer for a Coast Guard ship, and the frigate HMCS Halifax has come into drydock for maintenance. Work on the Canadian Surface Combatant ships is starting next year.
