First-ever speedcubing competition in P.E.I. draws large crowd | SaltWire #rubikscube #charlottetownCove Drinks of Halifax this week began shipping its sodas to 530 Costco warehouses across the U.S. This follows the company’s debut in the U.S. in February at 140 Fresh Market locations.
“This is a pivotal moment for our business,” Cove Drinks CEO John MacLellan said in a release. “As we see consumer health habits evolve, retailers are seeking out the right brand partners to respond to those demands. In the U.S., we now have a prime opportunity to get our product in the hands of 140 million Costco members — quite a ride from humble beginnings at the farmers market to the largest stage in America.
The launch of Dr. Cove, Ginger Ale, Raspberry, Cherry and Grapefruit varieties makes a total of 11, with the existing Classic Cola, Root Beer, Cream Soda, Grape, Orange and Lemon Lime. Besides Sobeys, Cove sodas are also sold at Loblaw, Costco, Circle K, Whole Foods, Farm Boy, Fortinos, Bulk Barn and Longos in Canada, a total of more than 2,250 stores.
Cove Drinks was founded in 2016 by brothers John and Ryan MacLellan in their mother’s kitchen in Malignant Cove. Last year, they added no-sugar sodas to their line of kombuchas.
