HALIFAX, N.S. — Police in Halifax are asking for new information in the murder of John Fulton Newcombe 12 years ago.

Around 2 a.m. on June 1, 2012, Halifax Regional Police responded to reports of a shooting at Winston's Pub and Eatery at 278 Lacewood Dr. in Halifax.Investigators believe Newcombe had just left the pub when he was shot, and that the shooter fled through a walkway towards Willett Street where they were picked up by a vehicle.

Police believe there are people with information which could help solve the murder and are asking anyone with tips to.contact police at 902-490-5020. Newcombe’s case is part of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program which offers cash rewards of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person responsible for specified major unsolved crimes.It has been our privilege to have the trust and support of our East Coast communities for the last 200 years.
