Halifax police made arrests and issued tickets in a quick response to a large street party near Dalhousie University on Sunday afternoon.

Reckless behaviour will not be tolerated.When a Chronicle Herald reporter checked out the scene early Sunday evening, there were few students out and about but at least about a dozen police vehicles remained in the area.
They saw a big fight break out at the corner of Jennings and Larch and said police immediately started clearing Jennings Street and then Larch and Preston.As of early Monday, police have not yet said how many tickets were issued or if any arrests were made.For the past few years, the unofficial street parties that happen near homecoming time in the fall have resulted in injuries, fines, arrests and property damage.
