Indiana led by as many as 19 points early Friday night, but had to battle in the fourth quarter against Milwaukee to go up 2-1 in the series.INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Pacers came out hot, then pulled out an overtime win in Game 3 of their NBA playoffs series against Milwaukee Friday evening.Indiana led 39-22 after the first quarter and by 12 at halftime, but the Bucks whittled away at the lead, forcing a back-and-forth fourth quarter at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Leading by one with less than a minute remaining, Pascal Siakam rebounded a Tyrese Haliburton miss and drew a blocking foul on Damian Lillard as he made a layup to give Indiana a 109-106 lead. He missed the free throw, however, and Milwaukee pulled back within one on a Khris Middleton basket. Aaron Nesmith made a pair of free throws with 6.9 seconds remaining to push the lead back to three for the Pacers, but it still wasn't enough. Middleton rattled home a 30-foot 3-pointer to tie the game at 111-111. Late in overtime, Nesmith again put the Pacers up three with a 3-pointer, but Middleton had the answer again, banking in a 26-footer with eight seconds left for the tie.
But Haliburton drove the length of the floor and drained a floater from the free throw line while being fouled by Patrick Beverley. The ensuing free throw gave Indiana the final 121-118 advantage.WTHR would like to send you push notifications about the latest news and weather.
