, it seems that they haven’t altered their songwriting techniques all too drastically—the Lou Reed-referencing “Summer Girl” is as close to a smooth jazz song as the trio have ever written, and its follow-up “Now I’m In It” is a classic Haim pop song. But although the band isn’t influenced by the Spice Girls and the like musically, they are pulling from girl groups aesthetically. Judging solely off the teaser photo that the band just shared onin anticipation of their next single, “I Know Alone,” you might think that Haim are a forgotten 1990s pop group: the sisters pose together in sleek matching black and white pieces against a white backdrop, a scene that wouldn’t look out of place printed on a poster in a teenager’s bedroom.
