Now comes word that Canadian troops sent to Latvia to deter a Russian invasion of that tiny nation are having to buy their own tactical gear

That’s almost criminal. It’s certainly disgusting. And it’s hard to fathom how it was ever acceptable to the Trudeau Liberals to command Canadian troops to go put their lives on the line for our country and for Western democracy without keeping the government’s end of the bargain, equipment-wise. The added outrage in Latvia: Our troops are training right next to Danish troops who are fully kitted-out with Canadian-made equipment bought from Canadian suppliers.
That means enough of the needed gear exists. What’s lacking is the political will in this country to fund it and the bureaucratic expertise to source it, secure it and ship it to our troops.Share this Story:
