Canadian workers work from home more than workers in any other country. Britain is second, the U.S. third
The average across the developed world is 0.8 days a week working at home. In Canada, the figure is double. Canadian workers tend to work 1.7 days each week outside the office.
Federal workers in Canada are still working more than two-thirds from home, about three or more days a week..Some countries have surprisingly low WFH levels. Italy, Norway, Denmark, France and Greece all have home-working levels well below the international average. And those are all countries with reputations for a relaxed attitudes towards work.
And in many of the surveyed countries, the employee desire for more days at home was the central motivator. Coming out of the pandemic there was a labour shortage, so while employers wanted workers in the office more , employers didn’t feel they could compel workers to attend the office for fear of losing them and being unable to find replacements.
