Jason Turkovich, 39, has been arrested and is charged with three counts of felonious assault.
The shooting occurred just after 4:15 p.m. Saturday at an apartment building on the 200 block of Stoddard Avenue. Officers were called to the building for reports of a fight, but were told while on their way to the scene that the situation was “escalating,” police say.
Two women, ages 21 and 33, were found on the ground with gunshot wounds to their legs, police say. Police put tourniquets on the wounds until an ambulance took the women to the hospital. Their wounds are not considered life-threatening, police say. Officers searched for Turkovich and found him hiding in a nearby apartment building, police say. He was arrested without incident. The woman involved in the shooting was not charged.
