JOHN'S, N.L. — Civil service overtime on the day of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral cost the provincial Treasury Board $82,259.38.The highest OT bill was for Transportation and Infrastructure — $45,713.00 — followed by Children, Seniors and Social Development at $14,595.87.
Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture spent $6,464.05 on OT, while Justice and Public Safety spent $6,242.17 and Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation spent $4,126.36. The lowest cost was for the Department of Environment and Climate Change, which incurred $206.64 in overtime.The one-time holiday was called after the sudden death of Queen Elizabeth II, who reigned over the U.K. and Commonwealth countries for 70 years.
