Guardsman Pass Scenic Backway through the Wasatch Mountain Range opened for the summer on Thursday.
Otherwise known as State Route 224, the popular seven-mile drive is only accessible to motorists during the summer season.Crews with the Utah Department of Transportation began working to clear the pass on Monday and announced they would be opening the gates for the first time since October on Thursday morning at 7 a.m.JOIN THE CONVERSATION
Subsequent to the opening of Guardsman, UDOT is reminding all Utah drivers and recreators of the following: As the road along State Route 224 is narrow, respect other motorists and do not park on the shoulder.Big Cottonwood Canyon is a watershed, so there are no dogs allowed.
