Frenchman’s Bay in Pickering is on the market for $60-million and two notable parties have put their hats in the ring.The group “Buy Our Bay” was started by Jeffrey McLarty. He says he wants to crowd-source a bid to buy it as a community and so far, more than 25 people are part of the group.
The group says they intend to set up either a co-op or a non-profit, with a social mandate to preserve the bay.In an interview with Durham Radio New , Mayor Kevin Ashe spoke in favour of putting it into public hands.
