Not only is Joe Schlott planning to open a Gray House Pies location with coffee shop at 18103 Detroit Ave., but there are also pies of a different kind -- Detroit style -- coming with Pizza Vendetta at 14201 Madison Ave.
The bakery was started in earnest as a home business in 2004. Schlott soon after needed to expand. Eventually, he landed at Lakewood’s Breadsmith, which offered its Detroit Avenue oven and kitchen when available.
“I had that space -- we just baked, didn’t do any retail -- for a year and a half before leaving Lakewood in 2008 to open a full store in Fairview Park.Apparently, Schlott is back with a vengeance. Not only is he planning to open a Gray House Pies location with coffee shop at 18103 Detroit Ave., there are also pies of a different kind -- Detroit style -- coming with Pizza Vendetta at 14201 Madison Ave.
