Lore said in a statement Thursday that she was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in late November
Minister of Children and Family Development Grace Lore has announced that she is stepping away from her ministerial duties following a cancer diagnosis.”This diagnosis was very sudden, and I am working with medical professionals to address this head on, right away,” she said.
Premier David Eby said in a statement that he is looking forward to welcoming Lore back to the role once she has recovered. Lore, who holds a PhD in political studies from the University of B.C. and taught at the University of Victoria prior to being elected, was appointed minister of Children and Family Development in January, following a stint as minister of state for child care and as parliamentary secretary for gender equity.
