Gov. J.B. Pritzker began the week with a White House visit for an event marking the passage of bipartisan gun legislation and will end it Saturday with a speech at a fundraiser for Florida Democrats.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker cheers with the crowd at his primary election night party on June 28, 2022, at the Marriott Marquis Grand Horizon Ballroom in Chicago.

Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering, second from left, and Gov. J.B. Pritzker, center, listen as President Joe Biden speaks during an event to celebrate the passage of bipartisan gun legislation on the White House South Lawn on July 11, 2022. “Florida is in dire need of a pro-choice, Democratic governor, and Governor Pritzker is proud to support the Florida Democratic Party in their efforts to flip the state blue,” spokeswoman Natalie Edelstein said in a statement. “As a lifelong Democrat, Governor Pritzker is committed to supporting his party in every corner of our country.”

The winner of Florida’s Democratic primary will face GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis, himself the subject of presidential speculation.
