Google Maps will soon roll out Immersive View for routing, an AI-powered fly-through preview service. Immersive View for iconic buildings is already live and allows 3D scroll-arounds of Big Ben in London or the Eiffel Tower in Paris., the new service for routes will be released soon in Amsterdam, Berlin, Dublin, Florence, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Paris, Seattle, San Francisco, San Jose, Tokyo, and Venice.

Google Maps has updated algorithms to prioritize cycling on safer, quieter roads and bike lanes.

Since the summit, Google has worked with TfL’s Open Innovation team and other experts to help improve cycle routing in Google Maps. TfL has provided pre-launch feedback on the enhancements to Google Maps and will continue to provide feedback as the product develops further. “With existing digital journey planning data, cyclists haven’t always been able to see the best route available to them,” he continued.
