Google issues annual employee survey in shadow of growing secrecy by jillianiles
, called TGIF, in November, with Google CEO Sundar Pichai blaming, in part, public leaks of company information. Google will now instead hold monthly meetings focused on specific “product and business strategy” with separate townhalls for “workplace issues.”
Google shares the results of the Googlegeist survey, which polls workers for their opinions on management, company strategy, compensation, and diversity and inclusion, with employees about a month after it’s distributed. In the past, it has had a response rate of more than 85% percent of employees. “We’ve run Googlegeist for employees to reflect on every year since 2007 and, as always, we’ll share the results with the entire company,” the company spokesperson said. “This is just one of the ways we ensure our employee's voices are heard and inform how we work.”
